Ever wonder what it was like to be a celebrity in a small town? Ree Drummond and her hubby renovated a building (and several other downtown Pawhuska buildings) to bring in people who want to enjoy The Pioneer Woman franchise! This has changed the future of this small Oklahoman town and allowed so many fans to see the beauty of the plains. People come from everywhere to experience this!  To watch the video on this adventure, click the button below and it will take you to our YouTube Channel. This was easily an amazing day trip!  We recommend that you add this to your list of places to see here in Oklahoma. Great for any time of the year. We will be going back and hopefully bringing some family along when we do!

Standing in THE Pioneer Woman's Kitchen!

What is it?

This adventure is all about The Pioneer Woman and the several locations to see related to her cooking show.

There are several places to see in Pawhuska, OK:

-The Mercantile. A beautiful storefront FULL of kitchen and home gadgets. The restaurant is also inside and the bakery is upstairs!

-The Boarding House. where you can book a stay in one of the themed rooms.

-The Lodge. Be sure to ask about a Lodge Tour Map when you’re at the Merc! They will give you a map (aka a “ticket”) to show you how to get to the Lodge. Don’t try to find it on GPS because you won’t find it! For these tours, be sure to check to see if they’re available. After all, this is the location where Ree films all of her shows so if they’re in the process of filming, it will not be accessible to the public. The Lodge is about a 30 minute drive from The Merc.

-The Pioneer Woman Collection. This is a store dedicated to Ree’s dishes/furniture/cookware/etc. That is available at Walmart. Stop in to see it all!

-Event Space. Yes, they have a rentable event space!

-Charlie’s Sweet Shop. An old timey feeling ice cream and candy store. You’ll notice the logo includes Charlie, one of Ree’s basset hounds that went over the rainbow bridge. It’s such a precious dedication!

-P.Town Wood Fired Pizza. Yes, another spot where you can find something to eat!

Pawhuska has a variety of other shops and eateries as well - PLUS - a museum! Be sure to see it all while you’re visiting. This could easily turn into a weekend (or longer) trip!

Where is it?

It is located over an hour from Tulsa, but no more than 1.5 hours. (Guess it depends on where you’re coming from and how fast you drive too hahah!)

📍The Pioneer Woman Mercantile, 532 Kihekah Ave, Pawhuska, OK 74056

Who can enjoy this experience?

It is suited for anyone, really. I don’t necessarily think you have to have any knowledge about The Pioneer Woman at all to genuinely enjoy this experience. BUT - It may be more enjoyable if you’re a fan! Especially if you love her show and want to see where the magic happens at the lodge! That part was so neat!

When can you go?

The Merc and other shops/restaurants are open all the time, but if you’re wanting to see the Lodge, be sure to check ahead and see if it’s open or not. It will not be open if they are actively filming shows for an upcoming season!
