Support Local Farms + Fill Your Bucket with Strawberries

Did you know that there are U-Pick farms everywhere?
That's right. Take a little trip over to Google and search "U-Pick farms near me" and you will likely find some not too far from you!
We LOVE picking our own fruit. It's a whole recipe of therapy, being outdoors, treasure hunting, and hand choosing each and every berry/apple/etc. whenever we go on these types of adventures. Not only do we physically fill our buckets with produce, we also feel so fulfilled in our souls by going and doing this.
McPeek Adventures Rating: We HIGHLY suggest that you plan this type of trip out. It's great for literally all ages. Kids really can get into the spirit!
On a recent adventure, we visited Joe's Farm in Bixby, Oklahoma for the start of strawberry season. This property hosts multiple kinds of u-pick throughout the seasons so check their website and Facebook page to get the latest news. We heard they also have blackberries, tomatoes, flowers....and maybe some snap peas and potatoes later in the year! In addition to having the fields for guests, they also have a store if you aren't the kind to get out and pick. It's packed with all sorts of plants and goodies from their farm AND some other local goods. See, told you it's for everyone.
For a gallon sized bucket, we spent $30 and picked just over 5lbs of fresh strawberries. It took us about an hour.
Who doesn't love a freshly picked strawberry? blackberry? or flowers!? There's just something SO satisfying about the whole process.
